Welcome to UCI’s

Anteater Community Garden

Come Join us!

Welcome
Our community garden is a place where people who enjoy gardening come together to work the soil and share their knowledge and experience with other gardeners. Our gardeners include UCI students, faculty, staff, and members from the community. Originally established in 1985, the garden has been located near two different UCI student housing complexes, most recently Arroyo Vista Housing. In June 2008 the garden will relocate to a new site next to Palo Verde Graduate Student Housing. The club name will be changed to Anteater Vista Community Garden.

The Garden Site
The new garden site is located along Anteater Drive between Palo Verde Road and California Avenue. There are 99 garden plots, each measuring 12 feet by 16 feet. There are eleven rows of gardens with four-foot pathways between the rows and a 24-foot center walkway. Click here for an approximate layout of the new garden. Members are responsible for maintaining their plots according to the Constitution and Bylaws and Membership Agreement.  Before a garden plot is assigned, gardeners must fill out and sign the Member Information Sheet.
