Co-Chair- The limited responsibilities of the Chair include the ability to: A) Preside over Mesa Directiva and general M.E.Ch.A... meetings. B) Be the deciding vote only in the case of a tie. C) Oversee the activities of the various components. D) Act as the representative of the organization in its interests, when elected to do so by the general membership by a simple majority vote. E) In charge of all M.E.Ch.A. accounts (internal and external) and will designate a co-authorizer if applicable. F) In charge of giving financial reports and keeping the financial budget in order. G) In charge of writing budget proposals. H) The position of Chair will be limited to a maximum of two individuals.

Chicana/o Latina/o Studies Chair- The Chicana/o Latina/o Studies Chair's responsibility consist of: A) Having the responsibility of addressing issues concerning the Chicana/o Latina/o Studies Program on Campus. B) Representing Chicana/o Latina/o students, when meeting with faculty, staff, and administration. C) Attending monthly meetings with the Chicana/o Latina/o Studies Program and staff and any other meetings concerning this issue.

Internal Chair- The Internal Affairs Chair responsibilities consist of: A) Attending any internal functions, workshops, protests, and meetings that coincide with the goals and objectives of M.E.Ch.A.. 2) Attending weekly/monthly meetings of ASUCI, CCC Advisory Board, and any other meetings that require M.E.Ch.A. representation (i.e. M.E.Ch.A..'s Leg. Council Rep. and CCC Advisory Board Rep.). C) Addressing issues of political context, (i.e. educational forums, pressing issues to students on campus, etc.) availability and support in terms of student services to the UC Irvine M.E.Ch.A. membership and the entire Chicana/o Latina/o community. D) Following Objective Ten and Process of Implementation in M.E.Ch.A.'s Philosophy.

External Chair- The External Affairs Chair's responsibilities consist of: A) Being the official off campus representative. B) Attending any outside functions, workshops, protest, and meetings that coincide with the goals and objectives of M.E.Ch.A.. C) Attending monthly/yearly meeting of Orange County Central, the Alta Califas Sur Regional, the Alta Califas Statewide, and the National Conference. D) Representing the entire membership of UC Irvine M.E.Ch.A.. E) Appointing an alternate, who is approved by the Mesa Directiva, and responsible for following the guidelines. F) Following Objective Six in M.E.Ch.A.'s Philosophy Papers and work in conjunction with Student Services and Outreach Chair to implement this objective.

Outreach Chair- The Outreach Chair's responsibilities consist of: A) Coordinating Raza Youth Conferences alongside the elected Raza Youth Conference Co-Chair. B) Outreaching to the community centers and neighboring schools in efforts to maintain communication and build strong ties. C) Training M.E.Chis.As to tutor and mentor students within these community centers and neighboring schools. D) Establishing liaison with parents at these community centers and neighboring schools (i.e. providing them with workshops, having community meetings, etc.). E) Working with External Affairs Chair to ensure that Objective Six in the M.E.Ch.A.'s Philosophy is carried out effectively.

Student Services Chair- The Student Services Chair's responsibility consist of: A) Coordinating the Mentor/Mentee Program. B) Establishing and maintaining committees including but not limited to: 1) Para Mujeres, 2) Tepoxcalli, 3) La Familia. C) Providing M.E.Chist.As with support services such as 1) Workshops (i.e. stress management, time management, study skill, etc.) 2) Test Archives 3) Education about On-Campus resources (i.e. Career Center, Counseling Center, etc.) 4) Research and provide beneficial information for M.E.Chist.As (i.e. jobs, internships, research programs, leadership opportunities, scholarships, etc). 5) Study Hours. D) Following up and assisting M.E.Chist.As with these resources. E) Researching/Establishing/Maintaining a Retention Center that works for Chicana/o students on Campus.

Community and Labor Chair- The Community and Labor Chair's responsibilities consist of: A) Shall be to establish relations with orgs in the Chicana/o community that support and do not contradict M.E.Ch.A. de UCI's goals and philosophies. B) Shall be limited to no more than two (2) social movements/issues, at any given time, pertaining to the Chicana/o community: in which direct working relations shall be established with those organizations (i.e. coalition building). C) Shall work in compliance with M.E.Ch.A.'s relationships to outside organizations as stated in the Philosophy Papers.

Fundraising Chair- The Fundraising Chair's responsibilities consist of: A) Acquiring funds for the organization, through coordinated events. B) Collaborating with the Social/Publicity Chair. C) Creating, distributing, and collecting M.E.Ch.A. dues throughout the year, if applicable. D) Will be responsible for M.E.Ch.A.'s general account, including, but not limited to: 1) T-shirt money, 2) Membership dues, 3) Carne Asada Food Sales, 4) Dances, 5) Petty Cash.

Social/Publicity Chair- The Social/Publicity Chair's responsibilities consist of: A) Putting together fiestas, dances, cultural events, and any other social gatherings. B) Publicizing all M.E.Ch.A. events and related activities. C) Co-operating with the Fundraising Chair.
