In case you are not aware, ABC is the conference that brings together all the Black Student Unions/African Student Unions from all the UC's. We gather every year to connect, discuss important issues affecting our communities and come up with ideas for improvement. This year, the conference will be held here at the University of California, Irvine. I have attached the ABC registration forms and workshop proposals. Please note that there is a registration fee of *$5* for all conference volunteers from UCI and a *$10* fee for non volunteers. The ABC committee can only do so much and needs the help and support of UCI volunteers for the conference to be successful. If you want to volunteer, please write that on your registration form. All the forms are in pdf form and have been made so that information can by typed into it and then printed. Please turn in all the materials and money to one of the ABC outreach committee members, which includes me (yfatunde@uci.edu), Blake Brown (brownbc@uci.edu) and William Layne (wlayne@uci.edu). On this day, we invite black high school students that have been accepted to UCI but have not decided whether they want to attend here or not. MAPS is asking for mentors for the day. Basically the mentor would need to show up at 8am to meet with their assigned mentee, and from 9-11am, the mentor would take the mentee with them to their classes, and just show them around our lovely campus. This is your chance to help increase the number of black people at UCI and you will also be receiving a free lunch! MAPS needs as many mentors as we can get, so if you are interested or have any questions about being a mentor for shadow day, please contact Brittany Rice at bmrice@uci.edu.
