I know you're still on break and the last thing you want to think about is Winter Quarter and coming back to campus, but there are a lot of important dates and deadlines next quarter, which I wanted to at least warn you of in advance so you can put them on your calendars early. Not all of these will apply to everyone, but hopefully some will and others are more of a "please-don't-plan-other-events-during-this-time" warning to RAs/HAs/CHSC. ;) Friday, January 13: HA/RA/CP Applications Due You can only apply online: http://www.housing.uci.edu/employment/ Friday, January 20: Peer Academic Advisor Applications Due You can apply online: http://www.honors.uci.edu/paas.html or pick up an app in the Honors Office Week of January 30 - February 3: PAA Interviews (sign-up for a time slot in the honors office when you turn-in your app) Saturdays, January 28 and February 4: Group Interview Days for the RA/HA/CP Selection Process *You will be assigned to one of the two days after you submit your application. 8am - 5pm: This is an all day affair! Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Feb. 21, 22, & 23 (week 7); 5-8 PM in the Honors Office: ProFro (Prospective Freshmen Outreach) This is when we write postcards and make phone calls to prospective freshmen. Dinner is usually provided (pizza) and since it is an odd week, CHSC has a brief meeting in the Locus. Saturday-Sunday, March 4-5: AV Interview Weekend for RA/HA/CP Selection Process Interviews for a CHP house will occur EITHER Saturday or Sunday. The exact day is not finalized as of yet. Saturday, March 11 (end of Week 9): Honors Experience Day The CHP's largest and most important recruitment event! Regent's breakfast in the morning, followed by a Program Overview with Panels of students in 3 locations on campus (HIB, SSLH, PSLH), individual school break-out sessions (and lunch), and then the option of housing tours (Loma & Shire). This day requires MANY volunteers; as panelists, breakfast & luncheon participants, and as tour guides. If you think you can/would like to help out with any portion of this day, please put it on your calendar now! We will need all the help we can get; as the success of this event relies heavily on the participation of current CHP students! Okay, I'm done.
