From: "Steve Good" Date: Tue, January 3, 2006 4:32 pm To: ldecoste@uci.edu Cc: teachersoftomorrow@clubs.uci.edu -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lisa and the members of Teachers of Tomorrow, I hope this e-mail finds you rested up from your Holiday break and excited for the Winter term. You may have heard that a new men's fraternity, Phi Delta Theta, is coming to California-Irvine's campus during the Winter term! No matter what stereotypes are given to fraternities in general, we truly believe that our presence will be very beneficial to the California-Irvine campus. It is a Fraternity experience that will offer countless leadership, management, and networking opportunities. Our main goal is to recruit 35-50 young men to become Founding Fathers of our values-based organization. We are a Fraternity that will uphold the principles that we were founded upon in 1848: Friendship, Sound Learning (Education), and Rectitude (Integrity). My name is Steve Good, and I graduated in 2004 from Iowa State University. Working alongside of me to recruit Founding Fathers will be Mario Villa, a graduate from the University of Texas. We will be at Irvine from January 9th through February 8th. You may be wondering why we are contacting your organization. The answer is simple. We've taken a look at the many student organizations on campus, and have determined that the students who join your organization may also benefit from Phi Delta Theta. Working with student organizations on past expansion has helped us increase our membership numbers, while increasing awareness and involvement in those other student organizations that our Founding Fathers come from. We understand that during these first few weeks of the term you and your organization may be extremely busy. However, by establishing a line of communication now, we hope to begin a fun and enjoyable working relationship with Teachers of Tomorrow. If possible, during the period of January 10-20, we would be very thankful if we could come to the organization's meeting to make a presentation about Phi Delta Theta. We will explain the benefits of the Fraternity along with the process we go through to recruit enough men to start a chapter. Would your organization be willing to squeeze us into your meeting for about 10 minutes? Also, if you would like to meet with us individually prior to presenting, we would be happy to do so. Feel free to pass along this email to any male student in your organization who you think may see this as a great opportunity! Enjoy the rest of your break and best of luck with the upcoming term. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Attached are a couple of examples of our marketing materials. We are looking forward to a successful experience at the University of California-Irvine.
