  • Meeting Themes

    Carolynn Bramlett, AC-S, CL

When I’m the Toastmaster for our club (Zotspeak F9524) meeting, I try to add a little more fun by creating a meeting theme.  I try to bring fun elephant baseball clip artdecorations, costume, food, treats, etc, to the meeting. I also ask the people who have a duty to incorporate the theme into their duty description.  I will also ask the Grammarian, to use a theme-based word as the word-of-the-day.

Then, I incorporate the theme into the agenda.  Instead of using the usual duty titles – Toastmaster, Evaluator, Greeter/Vote Counter – I use titles that go along with the theme.  To give you a better idea, here are a few agendas Zotspeak has used in the past along with our Themed Meetings.

If you’d like to brainstorm about this further, I can be reached at cbramlet@uci.edu or 949.824.1361.
